BMW 1M CoupeThe BMW 1 Series M is a high performance enthusiast version of the 1 Series Coupe that was first announced in July, 2010. The car has been marketed as the spiritual successor to the E30 M3. The body of the car has been modified to give a wider track and to help distinguish it from the standard 1 Series. The car is lightened by 35kg (77lbs) with a over all curb weight of 1,495kg (3,296lbs). The 1M coupe features a M-Tuned version of the N54 engine.

The standard N54 is found in the 335is.BMW originally intended the 1 Series M to be a limited edition model with production limited to 2,700 units, but due to positive response the company decided to produce as many BMW 1M Coupe as required by the market until production ends in June, 2012. The Production of the North American version of the 1M coupe ceased in December, 2011 with a total of 740 units in the United States.

The BMW 1M Coupe is powered by a 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine that produces 335 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. The car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds and has a electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.

The BMW 1M Coupe can get through the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 108 mph. This engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission which is the only option. This car also features a limited slip differential and a 3.15:1 final drive ratio.
